You will see finance repayments advertised with each of our vehicles. Whilst these are examples, they provide you with information such as to how the repayments are calculated, including interest rate, deposit, term and the total amount payable over the term. If you make your own selection as to term and deposit you will see this information updated.

We calculate all of our interest loan rates on a case by case basis. This means you get the best possible rate you can with Geneva Finance based on your unique situation.

We calculate our loan rates based on our customer’s:

  • age
  • credit history
  • residential and employment stability
  • financial obligations
  • licence type held (for Motor Vehicle Loans); and
  • any security that is offered as collateral against the loan (if any) cus.

Fees info
  • Loan Application and Account Maintenance

    Unlike other finance companies or banks we don’t have a flat rate for fees. Geneva fees are minimal charges to cover administration costs associated with your loan. As everybody’s loan is different, everybody’s fees are different too. We only charge you for services of ours you are using. All fees are worked out and included in the loan offer we provide you after your loan enquiry. This means there are no nasty surprises or hidden costs, we’re upfront with you from the beginning about the structure of our loans.


Loan Establishment Fee

A fee relating to the receiving & processing of an application combined with the acceptance & establishment of the loan as disclosed in the individual loan agreement. Rather than a flat fee like most finance companies, Geneva varies this rate depending on the loan amount and applicant profile. Charged to the loan when drawn. $50 – $695

Loan Administration Fee

A fee for maintaining the servicing of the loan. Calculated as part of the instalment.

  • $2 per weekly instalment
  • $4 per fortnightly instalment
  • $8 per monthly instalment

Personal property Secuirities Register (PPSR) Fee

Fees for the costs associated with registering our security interest with the PPSR on any security used against a loan as collateral. Charged to the loan when drawn.

  • Registration Fee $10
  • Applicant Check (per applicant) $1.50

Other Third Party Establishment Fees

We will charge other third party fees associated with the establishment of the loan (e.g. Veda Credit Checks, Motorweb Vehicle Checks, Drivers Licence Verification Checks). Charged to the loan when drawn.

Referral Fee

A Broker or Vehicle Dealer has the option of charging a referral fee that, if taken, is charged to the loan when drawn.

Refund Transaction Fee

A fee is charged when a request for any credit on the loan to be refunded is completed. $20

Prepayment Fees

An administration fee that is charged to the loan where the loan is settled early.

  • Full Prepayment $40

Modification Fees

Reassignment Fee (charged to a loan when assigning one borrower(s) and/or guarantor(s) name to another borrower(s) and/or guarantor(s) name) – $250

Security Variation Fee (charged to a loan when the goods/security against a loan are to be changed) - $30

Collection Fees

Text Message Fee: Fee is charged to the loan when attempts are made to contact the borrower(s) and/or guarantor(s) via text message after a breach of the loan agreement has occurred (e.g. overdue loan instalments). Applies on a per-text basis. – $2

Phone Call Fee: Fee is charged to the loan when attempts are made to contact the borrower(s) / guarantor(s) via telephone after a breach of the loan agreement has occurred (e.g. overdue loan instalments). Applies on a per-call basis. – $5

Letter Fees: Charged to the loan upon issuance
Reminder Letter Fee: (sent to the borrower(s) / guarantor(s) after a breach of the loan agreement has occurred (e.g. overdue loan instalments). – $7.50

Warning to Avoid Default Loading Letter Fee: (issued against an unsecured loan). - $25

Pre-Possession Notice Fee: (issued under the Credit (Repossession) Act 1997) - $25

Repossession Warning Notice Fee: (issued under the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003) - $25

Repossession Order: (issued when we authorise our repossession agents to repossess the loan security when the action stated in a Pre-Possession Notice or Repossession Warning Notice has not been completed within the stated timeframe) - $35

Post-Possession Notice: (issued following the repossession of security under the Credit (Repossession) Act 1997) - $40

Post-Repossession Notice: (issued following the repossession of security under the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act 2003) - $40

Statement of Account After Sale Notice: (issued following the sale of repossessed security) - $40

Recovery Costs

Costs incurred by a third party (e.g. repossession agent, legal provider, repairer) will be charged to the loan for the invoiced amount. Copies of invoices are available upon request.

Default Interest

In the event of an instalment being missed we will charge default interest at the default interest rate stated on the individual loan agreement from the time the payment was missed until the arrears are paid. – The annual interest rate at the time of the default plus 10% per annum.


Making Bulk Payments

Unlike most other finance companies, we allow our customers to make bulk payments against their loan without penalising you. If our customers want to pay off a big lump of their loan in one go, or even the whole thing at once we gladly let them! No hidden fees or extra costs, just us being flexible to help you.


Loan Application Terms & Conditions:

By completing a loan application enquiry with Geneva you would agree to the following:
I hereby authorise any person or body of persons listed below to disclose to Geneva Finance Limited (GF) including its subsidiary Stellar Collections Limited (SC), promptly on request the following personal information about me:

  • My current address(s) and or current whereabouts, including any arrival and departure records held in New Zealand:
  • My current known name(s);
  • My other known name(s);
  • My current bank account(s) including bank statements; and
  • Any employment details.

The persons or bodies of persons to whom this authority applies are:

  • any New Zealand Government department, agency or service including (but not limited to):
    • Ministry of Social Development (including Work and Income);
    • Inland Revenue;
    • Ministry of Justice;
    • Department of Corrections;
    • New Zealand Immigration Service;
    • New Zealand Police; and /or/li>
    • Housing New Zealand Corporation;
  • any New Zealand Telecommunication Company or service including (but not limited to);
    • Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited; and/or
    • Vodafone New Zealand Limited.
  • any registered bank in New Zealand; and
  • any other credit provider or debt collector in New Zealand; and
  • any current or previous employer.

PRIVACY DECLARATION

GF is collecting information about you to determine whether to open a credit account in your name; GF may not be able to open a credit account if all the requested information is not provided. Information collected and held about you may be used by GF and/or SC from time to time for credit assessment and control purposes, to register security interest, for sending you promotional and other material about the services it supplies, and generally to do business with you. Information collected may be exchanged with organisations or people including other credit providers, government departments, your employer and your relatives for those purposes. Under the Privacy Act, individuals have rights of access to and correction of their personal information about you. I/we declare that the information provided on my/our credit application form is true and correct. I/we understand that Credit Checks and PPSR Checks will be obtained to enable the processing of this application to determine credit worthiness. I/we declare that no money is owed on the security being provided other than that which has been stated. I/we declare that I am/we are not un-discharged bankrupts. I/we irrevocably agree that GF and/or SC may give to and seek from credit providers, credit reporting agencies, my/our employer/s, relative/s or other named person/s such personal, financial and commercial information as is necessary relating to this credit application, the administration of any loan and any ongoing debt recovery. I/we acknowledge that any costs relating to debt recovery are payable by me/us and that a default may be recorded against my/our credit history for non-payment of debts incurred with GF and/or SC. I/we understand and agree that the information on this form may be exchanged with other credit providers or other third parties to assist the recovery of my/our debt. Under the Privacy Act individuals have rights of access to and correction of their personal information. You may also request the full details of every organisation or person to whom GF and/or SC has disclosed information about you. I/we understand that any such personal information collected and held may be used by GF and/or SC for the purposes of operating, maintaining or taking lawful recovery action in respect of my/our account(s) with GF and/or SC.

SUMMARY OF PROCEEDINGS ACT 1957 DECLARATION

I/we declare that the information provided on this Application Form is true and correct. I/we understand that a Credit Check of Fines on the Ministry of Justice overdue fines database will be obtained to enable the processing of this Application to determine credit worthiness. I/we authorise GF and/or SC to conduct a search of the Ministry of Justice overdue fines balance database to obtain a fines status response and to obtain the balance of any fines in default. I/we also authorise GF and/or SC to conduct a search of the Ministry of Justice overdue fines balance database now or in the future in accordance with the administration of any loan and any ongoing debt recovery. I/we understand that should I/we have an overdue, unpaid or outstanding fine or reparation payable to the Ministry of Justice my/our contact information, as supplied on this application for credit, will be passed to the Ministry of Justice for it to collect, retain, use and disclose to the Court for fines enforcement purposes.
